On Monday 11 September, 140 students represented the College at the ACC Athletics Carnival (C Division). It was an exciting day with a lot of anticipation surrounding our Year 7 students and how they’d measure up with our Junior Boys who finished second last year.
The day got off to a great start with Nicholas Bonfiglio and Joshua Wong finishing first and second in their Year 9 Shot Put event, and Jacob Pilkington securing our first win on the track in the Year 7 Hurdles event. But it was the end of the day when our team did their best work, finishing first in four out of five boys relays.
We had some fantastic moments overall for individual athletes, with the following students placing in the top 5 overall for their age group.
- Ethan Cotter (Year 7) – Fifth place
- Benjamin Mycoe (Year 8) – Fourth place
- Nicholas Bonfiglio (Year 9) – Champion
- Kirrali Richmond (Year 9) – Second place
- Ella Anton (Year 10) – Fifth place
- Joshua Taylor (Year 12) – Open Champion
- Paige Craven Bower (Year 12) – Open second place
The Junior Boys (Years 7 to 9) were outstanding throughout the day, walking away as the ACC Athletics (C Division) Overall Boys Champions and ACC Athletics (C Division) Junior Boys Champions.
Thank you to our Athletics Coach, Ms Lisa Hopkins, and to our Health and Physical Education Department for supporting our students in the lead up and on the day.
